Responsive Call to Worship: Revelation 4: 8, 11
Leader: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.”
All: “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”
Prayer of Adoration
Hymn of Praise: Hymnal #115 (verses 1, 2, 4, 5) All Creatures of Our God and King
We Confess Our Sin
Call to Confession: Based on Luke 24:44-48; Heb. 4:16
Leader: You have heard what was written about Jesus in Scripture: how he would suffer and die and then rise from the dead on the third day; how, through his death and resurrection, the forgiveness of sin is now possible for all who repent. So let us boldly approach the throne of God, where we will find grace and mercy.
Silent Confession of Sin
Corporate Prayer of Confession
All: Gracious and Loving God, our hearts are wandering and distracted. You invite us to serve and love You now, but we refuse because we have places to be and things to do. Our excuses blind us to Your call. The urgent and temporary crowd out what You consider truly important and eternal. Forgive our lack of conviction, discernment, and purpose. Restore to us the joy of serving and loving You. May our lives give You glory and honor. We pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Responsive Assurance of Pardon: Adapted from Revelation 1: 5 – 6
Leader: Jesus Christ is the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth.
All: He loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Hymn of Assurance: Songs of Faith #6 Let Us Love and Sing and Wonder
We Give Thanks To The Lord
Responsive Reading: Adapted from Psalm 107: 1 – 2, 14 – 15, 21 – 22
Leader: Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
All: His love endures forever.
Leader: Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story—
All: He brought us out of darkness, the utter darkness, and broke away our chains. Let us give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love.
Leader: Let us give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind. Let us sacrifice thank offerings and tell of his works with songs of joy.
