Responsive Call to Worship: Isaiah 6: 1 – 9
Leader: In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called to another and said:
All: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!”
Leader: And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke.
All: And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!”
Leader: Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.” And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?”
All: Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”
Prayer of Adoration
Hymn of Praise: Hymnal #100 Holy, Holy, Holy
We Confess Our Sin
Call to Confession: From Isaiah 43: 2
Leader: When we pass through deep waters or go through times of fiery trial, the Lord our God is with us. With confidence in God, our creator and redeemer, let us confess our sin.
Silent Confession of Sin
Corporate Prayer of Confession:
All: Heavenly Father, You are a God of love and Your care for us knows no bounds. And yet, we sometimes feel overwhelmed by the circumstances of life. When our personal situations seem to be spinning out of control, we can find ourselves overwhelmed by anxiety. We confess our lack of trust in your faithfulness towards us. Forgive us for our impatience, and help us to see where You are already at work in our lives. Steady our minds and fix our hearts upon Your promises and goodness. Fill us with Your joy and encouragement as you renew our thinking. We ask this in the strong name of Jesus, Our Savior. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon: Proverbs 28: 13
Leader: Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
Hymn of Assurance: God Of The Ages, History’s Maker
We Give Thanks To The Lord
Responsive Reading: Psalm 100
Leader: Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands! Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.
All: Know that the LORD, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Leader: Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
All: For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.
