A Moment for Ministry: Answering God’s Call
Call to Worship: Matthew 11: 28 – 30
Leader: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Prayer of Adoration
Hymn of Praise: Hymnal #467 Wonderful Grace of Jesus
We Confess Our Sin
Call to Confession
Silent Confession of Sin
Corporate Prayer of Confession:
All: Loving and eternal God, Your Son Jesus came as King to rescue and redeem us. By grace through faith, You adopt us into Your family. Yet often we ignore Your call to serve. We make light of Your invitation to us. Our attention to You is scattered. Our affection for You is fickle. Forgive us for our stubbornness, disobedience, and pride. Renew us so we may love You faithfully. May we hear Your call and respond with joy to the glory and honor of Your holy name. Through Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
Responsive Assurance of Pardon: Psalm 103: 8 – 14
Leader: The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever.
All: He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.
Leader: For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
All: As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
Leader: As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
All: For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust.
Hymn of Assurance: Hymnal #465 Marvelous Grace of Our Loving Lord
