Responsive Call to Worship: Psalm 145:1-3; Deuteronomy 32: 3
Leader: I will extol you, my God and King, and bless your name forever and ever.
All: Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable.
Leader: I will proclaim the name of the Lord; ascribe greatness to our God!
Prayer of Adoration
Hymn of Praise: Hymnal #1 All People That on Earth Do Dwell
We Confess Our Faith
Responsive Reading: The Apostles’ Creed
We Confess Our Sin
Call to Confession: From James 4: 6 – 10
Leader: “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.
Silent Confession of Sin
Corporate Prayer of Confession: Adapted from Psalm 51: 1 – 10
All: Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. For I was born a sinner—yes, from the moment my mother conceived me. And my rebellion before you haunts me both day and night. Against you, and you alone, have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your sight. Your word is right and true. You are right in what you say, and your judgment against me is just. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Don’t keep looking at my sins. Remove the stain of my guilt. Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. Let me come to your Table with joy and gladness knowing that Christ’s blood has the power to not just forgive, but to cleanse and make new again. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon: Romans 5: 6 – 8
Leader: You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
