A Moment for Missions: Samuel Loftus
Responsive Call to Worship: Ephesians 1: 3 – 7; Psalm 28: 7
Leader: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,
All: Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.
Leader: In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.
All: The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.
Prayer of Adoration
Hymn of Praise: O The Deep, Deep Love of Jesus
We Confess Our Faith
Responsive Reading: Heidelberg 1
Leader: What is your only comfort in life and in death?
All: That I am not my own, but belong—body and soul, in life and in death—to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ. He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood, and has set me free from the tyranny of the devil. He also watches over me in such a way that not a hair can fall from my head without the will of my Father in heaven; in fact, all things must work together for my salvation. Because I belong to him, Christ, by his Holy Spirit, assures me of eternal life and makes me wholeheartedly willing and ready from now on to live for him.
We Confess Our Sin
Call to Confession:
Leader: Secure in our faith, knowing that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord, let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God and confess our sins. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
Silent Confession of Sin
Corporate Prayer of Confession:
All: Dear God, we gather today and admit our need for You and confess that we all fall short of Your glorious standard. We admit, that while living in a broken world, we stumble and lose sight of You. We are sorry for sinning against You and one another. Please forgive us. Help us trust in You, especially when we do not have control over what goes on around us. Thank You for Your unconditional love, mercy, and grace. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Assurance of Pardon: Zephaniah 3:14-15, 17
Leader: Sing; shout aloud! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart! The LORD has taken away your punishment, he has turned back your enemy. The LORD is with you; never again will you fear any harm. “The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”
Hymn of Assurance: Hymnal #251 Beneath the Cross of Jesus

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
