Responsive Call to Worship: Revelation 1: 4 – 6
Leader: Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth.
All: To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Prayer of Adoration
Hymn of Praise: Hymnal #94 How Firm A Foundation
We Confess Our Sin
Responsive Call to Confession: James 4: 8; Psalm 51: 1 – 2
Leader: Draw near to God, and God will draw near to you.
All: Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin!
Silent Confession of Sin
Corporate Prayer of Confession:
All: Lord God, You are the same yesterday, today, and always. You have revealed Your unchanging character through Scripture and through Jesus. You have welcomed us to take refuge in You, our Rock and our Salvation. Yet, we act as an unanchored people, a ship without mooring, dangerously tossed in the sea. We are affected more by our circumstances and the news than we are grounded in Your promises and Your character. We neglect to meditate on Your Word. Lord, we confess to be faithless followers, and we are sorry. Please forgive us. Grow in us a love for Your Word and a desire to be formed in Your presence. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
Assurance of Pardon: Psalm 103: 8 – 13
Leader: The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever. He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
