Responsive Call to Worship: Adapted from Isaiah 55
Leader: Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy?
All: Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Leader: Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food. Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live; and from my steadfast, sure love I will make with you an everlasting covenant. “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near.”
All: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
Leader: For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
All: For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall the word of the Lord be. It shall not return to Him empty, but it shall accomplish all His purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which He sent it.
Leader: For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
All: This will be for the Lord’s renown, for an everlasting sign, that will endure forever.

We Confess Our Sin
Responsive Call to Confession: 1 John 1: 5 – 7
Leader: God is light; in God there is no darkness at all.
All: If we say that we have fellowship with Christ while we are walking in darkness, we lie and do not do what is true. But if we walk in the light as Christ himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin.
Silent Confession of Sin
Corporate Prayer of Confession:
All: Almighty God, You have raised your Son Jesus from death to life, and crowned Him Lord of all. We confess that we have failed to bow before Him or acknowledge His rule in our lives. Instead, we have followed the ways of the world, and failed to give Him the glory He deserves. Hear our confession, forgive us, and cleanse our hearts to worship You. Establish us as Your faithful people, who move and act in obedience and love, and in imitation of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon: Romans 5:1
Hymn of Assurance: Songs of Faith #34 The Lord Is My Salvation
A Word About Communion: Foothills Community Church welcomes all baptized Christians who are willing to forsake their sin and who are trusting in Jesus Christ for salvation to receive Communion with us. If you are not able to take Communion, we invite you to use this time to pray before God.

We Give Thanks To The Lord
Responsive Reading: Psalm 116
Leader: I love the Lord, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy. Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.
All: I called on the name of the Lord: “O Lord, I pray, deliver my soul!”
Leader: Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; our God is merciful.
All: The Lord preserves the humble; when I was brought low, he saved me.
Leader: Return, O my soul, to your rest; for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.
All: For He has delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling;
Leader: I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living. What shall I render to the Lord for all his benefits to me?
All: I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord, I will pay my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people.
Leader: O Lord, I am your servant; I am your servant, the son of your maidservant. You have loosed my bonds.
All: I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on the name of the Lord.
Tithes and Offerings
Offertory: Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me/ Edward Hopper(1818-1888) An American Presbyterian minister whose most fruitful phase of ministry began in 1870 in a small church in the NY harbor area, known as the Church of the Sea and Land, serving the many sailors who made their way to and from their ships. It was at this mission that he anonymously wrote this hymn, which was typical of his gentle, humble spirit. Ten years later, in 1880, at a special anniversary celebration for the Seaman’s Friend Society, he presented this widely known hymn as his own.
